TTC Timeline

  • March 2001: DH and I marry.
  • January 2010: I switch birth control pills for prenatal vitamins. DH is deployed at the time.
  • June 2010: DH comes home for R&R. We give it a shot, but the timing isn't right.
  • July 2010 to August 2010: First PCOS-type cycle. 59 days.
  • November 2010: DH comes home. We start trying. Cycles are still off. I have a 57 day cycle that ends in November, followed by a 17 day cycle.
  • January 2011: I go to the doctor for a well woman exam and explain my crazy cycles. He suspects possible PCOS, puts me on Metformin (850 mg twice daily) and schedules an ultrasound to look at ovaries. Also puts in order for DH to have semen analysis.
  • February 2011: Ultrasound and blood tests.
  • March 2011: DH's SA. We get to talk to the doctor. DH is looking good. I, however, not so much. Diagnosis PCOS. Dr. recommends we see a fertility specialist in town and starts the referral process.
  • Also March 2011: We get orders to move to Germany in May 2011. We have less than 60 days. We put our house on the market and start planning for the move.
  • April 2011: Moving stuff. Household goods packed. Car shipped. I start acupuncture, but can only continue for a few weeks.
  • May 2011: I finally get a call approving my referral, but can't continue with the process due to the move. 11 May, we move to Germany.
  • June 2011: We get to move out of the hotel and into a house. I have my first appointment with an OB/GYN on post. First round of Clomid at 50 mg days 3-7. No ovulation.
  • July 2011: Second round of Clomid, 50 mg. No ovulation. Our house in the States finally sells.
  • August 2011: 100 mg of Clomid. Ovulation confirmed by blood test. 29 day cycle.
  • September 2011: 100 mg of Clomid. I do not ovulate as early in cycle, but Dr continues treatment without checking for ovulation with blood test.
  • October 2011: I go back to the States for a month to be with my mother who has been in the hospital for several weeks due to complications from surgery. No Clomid. Normal cycle.
  • November 2011: I return from the States. No Clomid this cycle due to timing of return. We have been trying a year.
  • December 2011: 100 mg Clomid. Meeting with doctor, who puts in order for HSG. Unable to do HSG until February due to lack of services at local facility.
